Cambria 6/2/17

We had a delicious Mexican breakfast in Santa Barbara, then made our way up the coast to Cambria. We stopped for a view of Lake Cachuma (left, below) and briefly in Moro Bay on the way (right, below).

We arrived in the Cambria area a couple of hours early, so we went on a hike in the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve. The trail head we found started in a random neighborhood, but took us across a meadow and cliffs overlooking the ocean. The view was really beautiful.

After the hike, we checked into our bed & breakfast, the J. Patrick House. Parents had gotten us a gift certificate as a present literally 5-6 Christmases ago, and we only now were able to make use of it. Turns out, the J. Patrick House had undergone a change in ownership and plenty of upgrading and modifications in the meantime, so it all worked out for the best.

The J. Patrick House had some lovely little garden areas and was certainly updated, though still with a rustic feel. Our gracious host served delicious appetizers, including tortellinis, cheese, and Caprese bites, paired with local wines during happy hour.
