Kyle had to go to New York again for work so we made a long weekend out of it. Having done some touristy activities last time we came in September, we didn’t mind doing some repeats of things we liked before. Despite being forced to check our luggage and running into Friday traffic from Newark into the city, we made it to our hotel in decent time and headed over to the Museum of Modern Art because tickets are free after 4:00pm on Fridays and Kyle was working last time so he didn’t go. We shared some Halal Guys right before MoMA because there was conveniently a food cart right across from the entrance. With Halal Guys in our tummies and world famous art before our eyes, the weekend was off to a great start.
We met Aaron and his girlfriend Jenn (obviously an awesome person) for dinner at Ipuddo and had some damn good ramen and buns. I was really excited about the beef tongue buns, but ended up liking the pork belly buns better. The beef tongue was crispy on the outside and meaty on the inside, with a nice mustard sauce topped with cilantro. Even so, the pork belly was juicier and better. The ramen knocked it out of the park though in terms of flavor.
We got Boba tea afterwards, which I haven’t done in years and made our way to AG Kitchen, where I discovered everyone could get free beers or Sangrias by checking in on Yelp. We took shameless advantage of this deal and they tolerated us with grace. We did not stay out too late because preggos like myself can’t handle it, but we took a nice long walk home shortly after midnight. On the way, we stopped to buy some Greek yogurt at a drug store, and reasonably cheap cherry tomatoes and blueberries from a produce cart.
