On Tuesday, we took a drive on the legendary Road to Hana, and experienced its legendary beauty as well as legendarily slow traffic. We hiked to the twin falls, where Jenn took a quick swim. As Jenn was walking along mossy rocks, the distinct scent of thick tropical foliage and sticky air on the way there reminded her of her grandfather’s yard in Taiwan, and she remembered that she had this exact same sentiment last time she was in Hawaii, on the island of Kauai.
On the way back to the hotel, we stopped at Iao Valley State Park, for more scenic views. By this time, Vale was getting a bit impatient, and recalcitrant about being in the hiking backpack for so long. Thus, we stuck her in the stroller and made it only to the paved areas.
Once back at the resort, we watched some World Cup soccer and Vale had a grand old time playing hide and seek with her cousins.
